Herbaceous Plants, Woody Shrubs, Turf Grass, and Trees make up the living, breathing, nutrient-consuming, and drinking creations we will refer to as plants.

When looking at creating ideas, preparing a quote, or completing work, there are some hard questions that need to be answered.

Why is the landscape/garden/plant there?

• What were the initial needs of and intention of the landscape when it was installed?
• Have the needs of the landscape changed since it was installed?
• Have the owners, managers, or those tasked with maintaining the landscape changed? If yes, do the new people have different time, energy or monetary resources?
• Why were the current mix of plants selected?
• Are the plants doing the jobs asked of it?
• Have the right plants been planted into the right spaces?
